This custom 1947 Lincoln Continental Convertible was built with extreme detail. The car’s grand demeanor was retained while more modern Lincoln drivetrain components were installed under bodywork. The Lincoln Continental has a power soft top, modern air conditioning, four-wheel power disc brakes, power steering, an automatic transmission, electronic fuel injection, and a modern stereo system.
POWERTRAIN
The engine is a 460-cu.in. Lincoln OHV V8 that has been upgraded with a new MSD EFI conversion that was added a few years ago.The electronic fuel injection makes cold starts easy and the engine doesn’t leak or weep. The engine has an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and MSD ignition components.
EXTERIOR
The sheetmetal is straight, with no rust or paint blemishes. The power convertible top was recently replaced. The glass, seals, and lighting are all in excellent condition.
INTERIOR
A full tan leather interior was installed during the car’s restoration/modification. The upholstery is in good condition as is the carpet, although it does show some minor wear. The car has working power windows, standard locks, good gauges, and a hidden Pioneer stereo system with a remote control unit. An aftermarket air conditioner/heater from Vintage Air has been mounted under the dashboard.
CHASSIS
The front suspension uses a Twin I-Beam setup with coil springs, as debuted by Ford on the 1965 F100 pickup. The bushings and shocks are good, with no damage. The Ford rear end is supported by parallel leaf springs and tubular shock absorbers. The car has four-wheel disc brakes with a power booster. The wire wheels are real, and the Toyo wide-whitewall tires are six years old.
