POWERTRAIN
The original 305-cu.in. V8 was replaced with a Goodwrench 350 crate engine that now has approximately 50,000 miles on it. The engine starts and idles well, with no smoke and no leaks. It’s matched with the truck’s original four-speed automatic transmission, which performs well. Recent service includes replacement of the radiator and carburetor.
EXTERIOR
The two-tone blue paintwork on this El Camino remains in beautiful condition, with some minor blemishes including small hail dents, small scratches and a few other small nicks here and there. The tailgate is also missing the chrome bezel around the license plate. The exterior chrome and trim appear in very good condition, and there are no cracks or chips in the glass. The body is rust free, with all exterior lights and signals working properly.
INTERIOR
Inside, the blue cloth cabin is in very nice condition, with no holes or tears in the bench seat cover, but some noted sun-fading. The carpet is worn in appearance and stained. Additionally, the headliner, door panels and dash pad are in good condition. There are missing trim pieces above the door handles and the emblem on the steering wheel shows stress cracks. The fuel gauge does not work, but the rest of the gauges work normally, as well as the air conditioning system. The original radio has been replaced with a Pioneer CD head unit that works great.
CHASSIS
The chassis, brakes and suspension are in good condition. The front suspension and front disc brakes were recently serviced, at the same time the tires were replaced in 2022. The tires are brand new Uniroyal Tiger Paws, and are mounted on the stock 14-inch steel wheels with stainless steel trim rings.
