Splitting the difference between the standard Corvette and the track-capable Z06, the C6 Corvette Grand Sport deftly delivers a more capable performance experience with the standard LS3 engine. It quickly became the Corvette lineup’s most popular model — and a great foundation for Callaway’s SC606 package. That’s what we’re looking at here: A 2010 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Convertible with Callaway’s supercharged SC606 package. It’s in excellent condition, with just less than 45,000 miles on the odometer.
POWERTRAIN
Under Callaway’s PowerBulge hood, the original 6.2-liter LS3 V-8 engine was fitted with an Eaton TVS-based 2300 supercharger that, along with an intercooler and other supporting enhancements, pushed the engine’s output from the stock 430 horsepower to 606 horses. It’s backed by the original, paddle-shift six-speed automatic transmission. There are no reported powertrain issues or leaks, and the engine starts easily and without smoke and that the transmission shifts normally.
EXTERIOR
This Corvette’s Arctic White paintwork remains in excellent condition, with no blemishes or swirl marks. The PowerBulge hood was part of the SC606 package, along with additional exterior badging, while a separate aftermarket rear spoiler and other minor appearance items were also installed. The convertible top is in nearly “brand-new” condition, and that the glass and seals are also in excellent shape, with no cracks or scratches in the windshield or other glass. All the exterior lighting reportedly works normally and the headlamp lenses appear very clear, with no apparent hazing or fogging.
INTERIOR
This Corvette’s gray leather cabin is based on the top-level 3LT trim and appears to be in very good condition, including the unique Callaway logo trim. Apart from some minor wear on the driver’s seat outer bolster, the seat covers are in great shape, with no cracks or holes. The carpet is in “like new” condition and the door panels, steering wheel, center console and instrument panel all appear to show very well, with minimal evident wear. Additionally, all the gauges are said to work normally, along with the power locks, power window, power seat functions and more. The same goes for the air conditioning and factory CD stereo system. The seller also reports the car has a built-in radar detector.
CHASSIS
The chassis, suspension and brakes are said to be in stock condition, with recent maintenance and service reportedly including a four-wheel alignment and new brakes with drilled rotors. The car “drives perfectly straight” on Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. The front tires were purchased within the past year, while the rears are older and show approximately 30 percent of their tread. The manufacturing dates for the tires are unknown. They’re mounted on the original, blemish free, chrome-aluminum wheels
